People skills
for smart people

I offer a range of workshops that help people build the skills they need to thrive in a world full of possibilities and uncertainty.

Soft skills are often the hard part of teamwork and leadership, but they can be made stronger, better, easier.

My workshops are a practice space rather than a classroom. They are highly interactive and memorable with lasting impact. For a shareable list of workshops, see my service guide.

I use a variety of teaching methods, and chief among these is applied improvisation - a creative practice whose time has come.

"Creativity is as important in education as literacy."
Sir Ken Robinson

Classes & workshops

Available as virtual classes or as a half day/whole day workshops, this learning is tailored for best results online or in-person.

The POWER of teamwork

Exercise the vital muscles for teamwork and while laughing, creating and collaborating. You don't have to get muddy in a field to come closer together.

This hands-on workshop helps people in teams to be more conscious about how they communicate and cooperate within the team and with other people.

Certain skills for uncertain times

There are causes for optimism in the world. You know them. But you're probably hearing the word chaos a lot more. Or sensing it, seeing it.

This learning experience is all about those skills and attitudes that help individuals and groups to be more resilient, grounded and productive. It uses activities from applied improvisation and storytelling because these are creative practices whose time has come.

Virtual communication

A practical and interactive (online) class about sharper listening, speaking with confidence, including everyone in the conversation and creating space for humour, warmth so that people want to work together and achieve more.

How to change your status

One of my favourite themes for personal development, and a vital area of learning for genuine progress on inclusion, belonging, equality and diversity.

We all have habitual status behaviours that affect our ability to influence others, sometimes they work in our favour and sometimes they don't. Put together these behaviours are the not-so-hidden language of power and influence and when we explore them openly we can use them more wisely, for the benefit of all!

Flow at work

Improvisation opens the door to experiences where a people get totally immersed in a happy, productive state of flow. We will walk this back into real life with practical ways to get more flow into your life and work.

Failing forward

Fear of failure stops us from taking risks, even small ones that might payoff. The good news is there are simple ways to create a more idea-friendly atmosphere where we can 'fail forward' and learn together.

Listening as a partner

It’s hard to get out of your head and truly listen to someone else with the possibility of being changed.  Learning to listen as a generous ally gives you a remarkable power for building trust and relationships.

Anti-conventional

training

Sessions with me don’t look or sound like regular training.

I take pride in creating playful experiences where people can laugh and learn in a happy, productive state of flow.

Don’t be fooled by appearances though, it's profoundly rich learning and the ripples will last a long time.

Seriously playful

I'm serious about helping people become more present in the moment, confident at communicating and skilled at co-creating. In a world in transition, this is the part I play to the best of my ability.

My approach creates a strong sense of safety and warmth, lots of laughter, instant cooperation, and unexpected turns that are rich in discovery.

As Kat Koppett says 'Improv is the gym' that can help build and tone muscles for a wide range of attributes like resilience, honesty, humour, mental flexibility and courage.

I really believe in this work, and the group of great people I work with because I’ve seen the results time and again. It’s profoundly creative, meaningful work and I’d love to share it with you.
